Two times, Jesus quoted Hosea 6:6. To understand His point, we need to understand Hosea’s point. The better we understand the people to whom Hosea spoke, the better equipped we will be to learn what this means “I desire mercy and not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.”
